The Eco Hub - Winter Skincare tips

Good skin comes in all shapes and sizes and if you want to reveal your best skin ever, look for products that are packed with these supernatural ingredients.

The holidays are upon us and in most cases, all of us will eat and drink way too much sugar, salt, and fat. These type of foods can wreak havoc on our skin. Indulging once in a while is fine but when you live in a cold climate you also have forced dry indoor air, the wind, colder temps and less humidity to contend with, all of which pull the moisture from the skin. You may think a hot shower will do the trick, think again, hot water makes your skin drier, a lukewarm, shorter shower is better in the winter months.

If you want your skin to glow this holiday season, here are a few tips and products that will do the trick, beautifully.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter and Lavender

Shea Butter is nut oil that nourishes the skin. It is full of vitamin A, E and F. Vitamin F is a natural anti-aging agent and along with the other vitamins makes it a great moisturizer your face and body. It retains your skin’s natural moisture.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera Gel is a natural antiseptic that contains 75 nutrients, 20 minerals, 12 vitamins and 18 amino acids. It supplies oxygen to the skin, which increases your skin’s strength, hydrates and makes your skin more flexible. Aloe Vera is great to use on the whole body.

Seaweed Extract

Cosmetic grade Seaweed Extract is rich in iron and iodine and helps reduce oil secretion from a gland, which helps reduce breakouts and balances the Ph level of your skin giving you glowing skin with better tone and texture.

Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

Himalayan Sea Salts

Pink Himalayan Salt contains 60 minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron and copper elements that you skin needs, especially during winter. You can use these salts for exfoliation, just add a little water to a small amount of salt and exfoliate your skin, or add them to a bath and soak in its detoxifying agencies.

Pure Argan Oil

Hemp Oil

Pure Argan Oil is perfect for your hair and skin. It is rich in vitamin A, phenols and fatty acids and offers deep hydration for your skin and hair.

Conclusion: The skin, like all things in (and on) the body, needs a little extra TLC in the winter. There are some simply delicious, effective, NATURAL ingredients that work wonders for our epidermis, the top part of our skin, and our skin is our body’s largest and fastest-growing organ. Skin is our body’s coat. It protects us. It helps us. Nourish it. Do you have a favourite ingredient?
